T&J was asked by Aldi to cover a 5-state territory for a self-checkout register installation project at several hundred locations.

Project details:

● All work is performed at night

● Crew is replacing existing registers and adding new self-checkout registers on the front end

● This project consists of completing multiple sites per week for the duration of 2023

● Serving all of NY, NJ, PA, VT, NH, ME, MA, CT and RI!

For this project, T & J was enlisted to install between one and six receptacles; cut in into the existing register millwork at over 100 locations. Technicians onsite at the time of the installation were tasked with reviewing register lane layout and referring back to customer specifications for the project to determine which registers received receptacles. All of this work was completed during normal business hours with the hustle and bustle of a supermarket front end. With a little communication with store management and proper safety procedures, it went off without a hitch!

When the customer was seeking a turn key solution for the rebranding of multiple branches, T & J took on the challenge. With our ample warehouse space, we were able to receive the new signage, inspect for any damage and store until the customer was ready for installation. Our scope for these projects consisted of communicating with the local Dig Safe agents to coordinate the excavation areas, excavate and remove existing monument bases, trench power to new base, pour concrete and set the steel. In addition to the monument signage, some branches also required flat wall mounted or channel letter signs.

In the new age of customer pickup orders, this client rolled out a “Drive up and go” station in multiple locations. T & J’s scope of work consisted of running dedicated clean and dirty power circuits as well as new point of sale data cables to the newly set millwork. In addition to the millwork electrical and data, we also installed power on the sales floor for an ordering kiosk as well as an exterior lighting circuit to the building signage at each location.

When our customer reached out for help with this rollout, we couldn’t have been more willing. This project came at the height of COVID-19 and was rolled out to hundreds of high-volume locations in the northeast. T & J’s scope was to get a 60-amp dedicated circuit to each of these prefabbed testing offices in the most cost-effective and efficient way possible. In many cases, it meant running overhead feeds. The fast pace and high visibility of these projects made it difficult but our dedicated teams knocked it out of the park.
